If you suffer from emetophobia you will already know this is a phobia of either being sick or of others being sick or ill. It’s an often-disabling phobia in the sense that it can operate at a background level, affecting sufferers on a daily basis.
Most emetophobia sufferers find that over a prolonged period of time they also experience high levels of generalized anxiety, which affects them in situations other then people being ill or sick. Many go on to develop other phobias. Some even develop eating disorders because they are highly anxious and the thoughts of eating and the anxiety they experience become connected to the idea of being ill.
When clearing emetophobia, we have to work to reduce the general anxiety the person is experiencing.
In this episode; I begin by sharing a simple technique that will help any sufferers to begin to release all the stress chemistry many have build up over years and often decades and explain why reducing general anxiety levels is a key to being clear of this phobia.
In this video series “Living Phobia Free” I will be covering tips, techniques, observations and sharing information about overcoming a wide range of phobias and fears.
